The Maze of Waves: From Inspiration to Immersion Beneath the Sea

Concept Overview
Inspired by the visionary work of Spanish architect Oscar Tusquets and his transformation of the Toledo Metro Station in Naples, The Maze of Waves is a multisensory outdoor exhibition that captures the poetic dialogue between sea and structure. Using the metaphor of underwater motion and dynamic fluidity, the installation invites viewers to descend into a journey where architecture dissolves into rhythm, light, and waveforms.

Created entirely in Adobe Illustrator, both the 2D and 3D elements of this project reinterpret Tusquets' architectural language through the lens of motion and pattern. The goal is not to replicate the space, but to extend its emotional frequency into the open air—inviting passersby into an environment where the city and the sea merge.

Replica((Physical Model of “The Maze of Waves” Temporary Exhibition))

As a tactile translation of the Maze of Waves exhibition concept, Replica is a handcrafted cardboard scale model that captures the fluidity and spatial rhythm of the full installation. The model was developed to explore material behavior, curvature dynamics, and light interaction in a physical context. This maket serves as both a structural prototype and a design-thinking artifact, enabling the refinement of formal gestures and human-scale interactions before full-scale implementation
